Jubilee Oilfields, Ghana
The Jubilee Southeast Project required a reliable Ghanaian company, in compliance with the Ghana local content law, to transport large diameter reels and heavy equipment from Europe to the end client’s field and provide heavy lift support for delicate infield installation.
Highlights:
Operations Manager, Subsea Operations Department. Technip FMC.
The Challenge
Transporting large reels and heavy equipment over long distances required specialized vessels and intricate engineering. It was a significant undertaking that no Ghanaian company had previously accomplished. Additionally, the project had a fluid nature, requiring adaptability, efficient planning, and coordination with the client and their construction vessel.
The Solution
In conjunction with HARREN GROUP, the indigenous company deployed two world-class heavy lift vessels from the Jumbo Sal Alliance.
Utilising the asset and resource pool of our dependable partner (a member of the Jumbo Sal Alliance), two world-class heavy lift vessels were deployed to support TechnipFMC’s operations. The vessels were further engineered and enhanced to handle the large and complex heavy cargos and delicate installation scopes, ensuring safe and efficient transportation and installation of the reels and equipment.
The Result
The collaboration between us and TechnipFMC, and the execution of the work was successful. The heavy lift vessels effectively transported the reels and equipment, overcoming geographical challenges and ensuring timely delivery. Close coordination with the client’s-chartered construction vessel facilitated smooth execution of delicate installation scopes.
Jubilee/TEN Fields, Gulf of Guinea
The Unit Operator required a Platform Support Vessel (PSV) to assist with ongoing drilling operations and provide support for FPSO operations. The scope of work for the PSV included the transportation of various cargoes such as chemicals, tools, materials, and tubulars. It also needed to have under deck storage and bulk transfer capacity for drilling fluids and dry bulks.
Highlights:
Marine Superintendent, Tullow Ghana
TGL Rep.
The Challenge
Find a technically compliant solution that would provide long-term cost savings and deliver value to support the client’s goals while cognisant of the environmental impact on operations.
The Solution
Through a comprehensive internal evaluation process, our team analysed various PSVs available in the market. We considered factors such as vessel specifications, capabilities, operational efficiency, and environmental impact. This in-depth analysis enabled us to identify a PSV that perfectly aligned with the client’s requirements and goals.
We provided a modern, fuel-efficient propulsion vessel — MV Anjali — that offered superior station keeping capabilities within its class. The vessel was specifically chosen for its ability to support the client’s ongoing drilling operations and provide operational support for FPSO operations.
The Result
The chosen PSV solution provides an optimal balance between technical compliance, cost savings, and value delivery. Its advanced capabilities and versatile design allow for efficient carriage of different cargoes, maximizing operational productivity. The vessel’s storage capacity and bulk transfer capabilities ensure seamless transportation of drilling fluids and dry bulks.
Western Region, Ghana
Client’s dewatering unit experienced a critical issue that led to excessive wear on vital parts and components, requiring urgent replacement. Failing to address this issue urgently would result in the pump being rendered out of service, leading to substantial financial losses and reputational damage.
TEN Oilfields, Offshore Ghana
Our client urgently needed additional accommodation for their FPSO Shutdown window to accommodate an increased number of personnel. However, the vessel market was very limited, and finding a suitable flotel within budget and meeting the technical requirements was challenging. We proposed a creative solution by adapting our partners’ DSV to meet the client’s requirements while staying within budget and operational timelines.
Jubilee/TEN Fields, Gulf of Guinea
A critical technical fault occurred on a vessel that was supporting the Unit Operator with ongoing drilling operations. This fault happened during a crucial operation, which put the project at risk of costly delay and failure.
As a result, the Unit Operator urgently needed to find a replacement vessel through spot hire to provide immediate support to the drilling operations. The goal was to minimise downtime on the drilling rig and ensure the drilling project could continue without delays of hiccups.
