We believe compliance with HSEQ best practices, standards, regulations, and legislations is essential to create the safest working atmosphere devoid of injury to persons and risk to the environment, damage to assets and reputation.

Our approach

Apply Technologies firmly believes that a variety of events, including operational failures, workplace accidents, environmental incidents, damage to asset, quality nonconformances, regulatory infractions, ethical transgressions give rise to reputational risk.

Aims and objectives

Our HSEQ approach is based on one simple message: No one gets hurt.

Everyone should go home at the end of each day in the same physical condition in which they arrived – or better. We adhere to the following key HSEQ objectives:

  • Zero injury to people.
  • Zero pollution or minimal environmental impact.
  • Zero damage to assets.
  • Zero risk to reputation damage.
  • Zero conflicts with stakeholders and the local population.

Optimise opportunities for sharing economic prosperity from our activities.
To comply with the relevant legislation and guidelines, we ensure all staff:

  • Are aware of the requirement to notify supervisors of any health, safety, security, and environmental risks which they believe not to be under adequate control. This enables actions to be taken to prevent potential injuries or other losses and provide a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Are conversant with the working conditions, the hazards and risks associated with the work, and the rules and standards relating to the environment, including the handling of waste and hazardous materials.
  • Evaluate risks prior to work commencing through the development of Job Method Statements and the application of Job Hazard Analysis.
  • Are aware of the requirement to report all injuries as soon as they occur so that proper treatment can be administered, and corrective actions are taken to prevent similar recurrences.
  • Are aware of the importance of reporting near-miss events so that action can be taken to prevent actual loss.
  • Establish, implement, and review internal and external environmental policies.
  • Receive worksite safety induction and relevant skills training prior to the start of work. The training provided by Apply Technologies shall include knowledge of work and social interaction expectations, worksite safety rules and standards and the requirement to report all injuries immediately.
  • Assist in the pre-mobilization safety review before commencement of work and necessary actions completed before work commences.
  • Are aware of the need for environmental protection, including personal responsibilities regarding anti-pollution behaviour and environmental monitoring activities.
  • Are respectful; this is essential when promoting social, racial, and religious harmony.
  • Don’t discriminate against another person, e.g., based on physical disadvantage, appearance, skin colour, nationality, language, religion, or food preferences.

Risk management

Our risk management plan serves as an essential tool for evaluation, and control of any risks that could impact Apply Technologies’ goals, operations, or reputation. The steps and resources for recognising, assessing, treating, tracking, and reporting hazards are outlined in the risk management process.

Formal risk and opportunity evaluations are conducted continuously at the corporate level to pinpoint any significant changes and the corresponding risk-reduction measures. Every project needs to have its operational, commercial, and HSEQ risks and opportunities evaluated. The HSEQ Department oversees the related risk-reduction measures.

Employee involvement
& competence

In addition to risk assessments, workers participate in HSEQ meetings, audits, inspections, and Working Environment Committee meetings. Each person receives HSEQ training that is customised to their work responsibilities and risk exposure. Strategies for the upcoming year are provided, along with a discussion and agreement on the lessons learned.

Environmental management

A global revolution in energy is currently underway. A 45% decrease in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 is necessary to meet the goals set forth in the Paris Agreement. We strive for continuous development wherever it is practical and economically feasible because the world’s population is growing and so is the need for energy. To reduce our influence on the environment and on people, we aggressively implement innovative, more sustainable technologies and procedures.

We always strive to increase the sustainability of our offerings through product and service development. We endeavor to incorporate the best environmental practices into our everyday operations and track and evaluate our environmental performance. We create and carry out initiatives to address global warming, climate change, and the preservation of natural and cultural resources. We are also dedicated to reducing resource use, greenhouse gas emissions, waste production, and environmental degradation.

Security management

We are dedicated to operating with honesty, decency, and accountability. We also strive to consistently provide a safe and secure work environment for our staff members, both ashore and onboard our chartered vessels.

We uphold the highest standards of moral behaviour and abide by all relevant local, state, and international laws, rules, and regulations. All personnel involved in our operational activities are expected to comply with our requests without exception.

By implementing internal auditing and management review processes, we’re able to continuously assess security procedures and take the appropriate action when issues arise. The primary expectations that direct our behaviour are outlined in this security code of conduct. It’s not an all-inclusive or thorough list of all the laws and ordinances that deal with us. For more comprehensive details and directions, we always consult the applicable policies and procedures.

We value our customers, which is why quality is crucial to our business. We work hard to deliver products and services that both meet and exceed the expectations of our clients.
